The Camel and Artichoke Restaurant in Waterloo, London

Page Content

The Camel and Artichoke is a friendly local pub sitting on the Popular Lower Marsh Street. The street offers a picturesque scene - it is home to a daily food market and is lined with independent shops, bars and restaurants. The pub itself offers a relaxed and traditional setting in which to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat. The food on offer in the Camel and Artichoke pub is down to earth - think fish and chips, lasagne and sausage and mash. The gastropub spans two floors and is a cosy place to while away the hours - there are large old mirrors, green walls and candles on every table. If you have never experienced a British pub before this wouldn't be a bad place to start. The bar attracts a jovial crowd made up of locals and people working in the area (this means that it is at its busiest for after work drinks - from 18:00 onwards).

tip It is important to note, The Camel and Artichoke pub does not open on Sunday. Lower Marsh Street is popular all week amongst people working in the Waterloo area. However, on Sunday the area is quiet.

How to book:

There is no need to book at The Camel and Artichoke. It is more of a pub than a restaurant, meaning that they do not take bookings. This is helpful if you are looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat and do not have a reservation anywhere. You will be able to get food at this pub without needing to organise anything official.
