What is Hix bar like?

Hix is currently one of London's coolest and popular upmarket restaurants. Hidden in the depths of the restaurant is a gem of a cocktail bar - Mark's bar. Named after the restaurant's owner Mark Hix, this small underground space attracts Soho's cutting edge clientele. As you head through the restaurant, you will see a red neon finger pointing you downstairs into the bar. Low lighting, mismatching furniture and a long metal bar add to the New York lounge feel to the space. Cocktails are traditionally British in style, and they are expertly mixed by a quirky crew of young and stylish staff.

This makes it a popular destination amongst a young and well-dressed crowd who don't mind paying for a well-made cocktail. There is no strict dress code at Mark's Bar but you will feel out of place if you haven't made an effort.

When is the best time to visit?

This bar comes alive at night. But it is also a relaxing place to head throughout the day for a quiet cocktail and to enjoy some of the bar's famous bar snacks. It is worth remembering that when the bar is full they do not allow any more people in. Also, you cannot book for Mark's Bar. This means that if you want to be guaranteed to get in to the bar in Hix it is worth heading there before 6pm.
